Franz Epting Receives Abraham Maslow Award from APA
Vol. 12, Issue 2 (Fall 2008)
By Jonathan D. Raskin

At the August 2008 American Psychological Association convention in Boston, Franz Epting received the Abraham Maslow Award. APA's Society for Humanistic Psychology presents the award, which they note is given to "an individual for an outstanding and lasting contribution to the exploration of the farther reaches of human spirit." Based on his career advancing humanistic approaches to personal construct psychology, Franz clearly meets these exceptional criteria and embodies the essence of the Maslow Award.

At his awards talk, Franz discussed the pragmatism of George Kelly. Franz has been working for some time now on a biography of Kelly and the material he presented at his award was drawn from his biographical research on Kelly's life. Fellow CPN members Larry Leitner, April Faidley, and Jon Raskin were in attendance to celebrate Franz's achievement.

Congratulations, Franz, on this well-deserved honor!
