CPN Gets Official Launch
Vol. 8, Issue 2 (Fall
2004)
The official
launch of the Constructivist Psychology Network took place at the
Memphis 2004 Gala Banquet. This marks the official change in name
from the North American Personal Construct Network (NAPCN) to CPN.
The change was heralded in by Jay Efran’s magic act, always a crowd
pleaser in its own right. This particular show featured a trick
involving placards (carried by various members). The placards
collectively made up a number of alternative names that had been
considered for NAPCN. The trick ended with an unveiling of the CPN
name on the placards, appearing as if by magic to great applause by
everyone in attendance.
No sooner had the CPN ushered in its new name, and it was down to
business. Nominations (either of oneself or others) for positions
of President, Secretary, and Members-at-Large (3 positions) are
being are now being accepted. There has already been interest shown
for each of the positions, however further nominations will be
accepted into the Spring of 2005. Names that will officially appear
on the ballots will be announced in Columbus at the 15th Congress.
Each candidate’s position statement will be included in the Fall
2005 issue of the Chronicle.
